Those of you who are fans of US drama One Tree Hill and fans of the film Coach Carter (starring Samuel L Jackson) will recognise Antwon.

Antwon Tanner, who plays the character “Skills” in the young adult television drama One Tree Hill, has pleaded guilty to taking part in a fake identity scam.

Tanner, 35, told a federal judge in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Friday that he was a middleman in the scheme, selling 16 social security numbers and three fake social security cards that were supplied to him by an unidentified source. He was paid $10,000 US for the transaction.

The actor was charged with selling the numbers and the cards in April.

He faces up to one year in prison and a $250,000 US fine. His sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 20. Continue Reading…..

Antwon has so much potential and has appeared in some major TV dramas. Now he has foolishly gone and jeopardized his entire career.

Was he really that desperate for the money or was he just motivated by shear greed?

What a complete and utter waste!

It’s been announced that the highly anticipated Black Tie Comedy Awards, due to be held tonight (August 23rd), has been cancelled.

The first ever Black Tie Comedy Awards organised in celebration of some of the UK’s top black comedians was supposed to be held at the IndigO2 but the Metropolitan Police apparently stepped in and shut it down.

The event will now be rescheduled for a new date in November.

Tickets are refundable at the point of purchase.

The mother of 800 metre world champion Caster Semenya has come forward with a birth certificate to prove that Semenya was born a female.

However the world governing body for track & field sports (IAAF) is still questioning Semenya’s gender and are currently conducting genetic tests.

Rap pioneer KRS-One has bigger plans for Hip-Hop as he’s announced that he will soon release The Gospel of Hip Hop: The First Instrument, a 600-page book that examines the spirituality of the culture. The Boogie Down Production’s “Teacha” said his new spiritual book will help form a new Hip-Hop religion on earth. “It explores the spirituality of Hip-Hop, the divinity of Hip-Hop. I’m suggesting that in 100 years, this book will be a new religion on the earth,” KRS-One told AllHipHop.com. “Now you talk about controversy, there’s some Christian ministries if you go online, look up some ministers, they dissing right now. ‘Who the hell does he think he is?’ Well, I think I have the authority to approach God directly, I don’t have to go through any religion [or] train of thought. I can approach God directly myself and so I wrote a book called The Gospel of Hip Hop to free from all this nonsense garbage right now. respect the Christianity, the Islam, the Judaism but their time is up.”

Former MI5 spy David Shayler was among squatters evicted yesterday from a National Trust property.

Eight activists – including transvestite and self-proclaimed Messiah Mr Shayler – were either dragged or walked away as security guards, supported by police, cleared Hackhurst Farm in Surrey.

One man was arrested and taken to Reigate police station.

‘We are now homeless. We don’t have a roof over our heads but I am Jesus Christ, so I don’t mind,’ said Mr Shayler, 43. Continue Reading…..

News International said today that it planned to close its afternoon freesheet, the London Paper.

The paper will continue publishing for about a month while News International consults with 60 staff members. It is understood that the London Paper’s final day of publication is likely to be Friday 18 September.

Today’s announcement signals an end to the London freesheet wars, which began almost exactly three years ago in August 2006, when News International decided to launch an afternoon freesheet and Associated Newspapers retaliated to protect the London Evening Standard and its morning freesheet Metro by launching London Lite. Now we are left with the other free newspaper – The London Lite. A publication that loves to focus on Y and Z-list celebrities who spend their days hanging out in Hoxton and nights falling out of nightclubs. GREAT!
