RAPPER Lil Kim and singer Cyndi Lauper both sang Cyndi’s classic 80s hit Time After Time, at Nelson Mandela’s 91st birthday bash concert in New York City this past weekend.
I had to stop watching soon after Kim joined in.
Was dueting with Lil Kim Cyndi’s idea???
I mean… WHY???????????????????
Poor Nelson. He flew all the way from South Africa and had to sit through that mess.
Tinchy Stryder has been given a publishing deal to source new talent by record executives.
The Number One singer’s first signings are producers Dirty Danger and Nathan Retro.
Stryder, whose real name is Kwasi Danquah, said: “My music comes first but discovering new talent is really important to me and something I can see myself getting more into.
“I can definitely see myself as the next Simon Cowell.”
Stryder’s new album Catch 22 is released on August 17.
OK, so when did Tinchy become a singer Digital Spy??????
British media outlets always do this. Their lack of respect borders on being almost comical.
Ne-Yo, Usher, Chris Brown are always being refered to as rappers and now Tinchy’s a singer!!!!
Have I missed something here?
Anyway congratulations Tinchy. I wish you the best of luck sourcing new talent.
There are doubts about whether Ne-Yo will be able to perform at his three remaining UK shows after he was taken ill and left the stage in tears during a gig in Manchester.
The R&B singer, who was performing at the MEN Arena in Manchester on Thursday, was crying after struggling to sing on stage for over half an hour.
He told fans he had never not completed a show before but couldn’t continue with his performance.
Ne-Yo is meant to be performing in Liverpool tonight ( Friday ) and in Newcastle and London over the weekend.
BBC Manchester presenter Karen Gabay was at the concert and said Ne-Yo looked like he had a “really bad fever”. Continue Reading….
This sounds serious. I wonder if he has contracted Swine Flu……
Singer and TV personality (she will appear on Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing as a regular judge) Alesha Dixon has announced that she plans on making a “hard hitting” documentary about absent fathers.
Dixon will be fronting this documentary so it will basically shine the spotlight on young women from within the black community who are possibly unemployed, struggling to raise at least three children by the themselves somewhere deep in South London, because their ‘road man’ baby fathers just got up one day, left, and never returned.
Then the spotlight will focus on the black man who will end up looking worthless and completely irresponsible before the documentary reaches it’s climax.
Dixon will then visit psychologists, community workers, social workers, and a host of UK ‘urban’ personalities, to discuss finding a solution to this problem.
Then she will conclude with some words of wisdom Rev Run style.
The ‘God MC’ otherwise known as the legendary wordsmith Rakim, has dropped his new single Holy Are You, taken off of his long awaited new album The Seventh Seal.
Comedian Kojo’s show, Kojo’s Comedy Fun House aired last night on MTV Base, and it’s been announced that it achieved the highest ratings on Base.
Congratulations Kojo!
I tuned in for the first time ever last night and the show had a Wild ‘N’ Out / talent show feel to it.
Viewers were treated to performances from Bashy, Lethal B, ‘singer’ Estelle’s sister and some other artists, numerous games (the games were pretty dull to watch / didn’t come across well on TV), and shots of actor Idris Elba sitting in the audience with an amused look on his face.
The comedians featured in all honesty need more time to perfect their craft. A lot of the jokes were old and lacked originality.
Only one comedian (I forget his name now but his hair was braided in to a bun) made me smile.
But other then that the show was more miss then hit for me.
However it’s still early days, and I am confident that as time goes by the show’s content and the quality of comedic talent featured will improve.
