Mariah Carey’s new single ‘Obsessed’ leaked today and I still demand to know what happened to the ‘Vision Of Love’ Mariah Carey?

Remember her? Mariah with the power house vocals. Mariah who had the ability to shatter glass.

‘Obsessed’ (a diss track aimed at Eminem) isn’t horrible but it just sounds so childish! A nineteen year old should have been given this track to sing, not a woman who has just turned 40.

And to make matters worse Mariah has jumped on the autotune bandwagon.

I am old enough to remember when she debuted in 1990 and blew everyone away with her unique vocal abilities, so this is just heartbreaking.

*rubbing temples*

Singer/DJ Sonique has undergone emergency breast cancer surgery at a Harley Street clinic in central London.

The 40-year-old singer who grew up in Crouch End was in a “stable condition” less than a week after discovering she had the disease.

For those of you who missed the “news flash”, US comedians Cedric The Entertainer and Eddie Griffin will both be perform live stand-up gigs here in London.

Choice FM is the promoter behind both shows and apart from promoting both events on their website, the station’s “promotional activities” so far can only be described as shambolic and laughable! 

Most of my Twitter peeps who work within the world of entertainment here, didn’t know anything about Cedric and Eddie’s up and coming shows.

My friend happened to mention in passing that Cedric would be appearing live on stage in London on the 20th June. I was stunned.  This was news to me. 

And the only promotion that I spotted for Eddie’s gig  was a shabby little poster advertising the event, hidden behind a dust bin in South East London.

Choice FM you are a joke and a disgrace!

Anyway I’ve decided to help promote both shows, seeing as Choice have proven themselves to be completely useless.

Hitmaking artist and songwriter R. Kelly will make his first tour of the African continent this month, courtesy of his participation in the ARISE African Fashion Awards. The awards show and gala will take place in Johannesburg, South Africa on June 20. The inaugural R. Kelly concert will also serve as a close out to Africa Fashion Week, and kickoff a multi-city tour that spans South Africa, Nigeria, and London. The Chicago singer revealed that this tour is his first trip to the Motherland, and he expects the experience to resonate both on personal and professional levels. “I’m very excited about my first visit to Africa, I’ve dreamed about this for a long time and it’s finally here,” Kelly told AllHipHop.com in a statement. “It will be one of the highlights of not only my career but my life. I can’t wait to perform in front of my fans in Africa – who have been some of the best in the world.”

So I’m guessing that R.Kelly plans on travelling to the Motherland by ship, seeing as he has a fear of flying (but he believes he can fly) and refuses to board a plane.

“The inaugural R. Kelly concert” - Right… O..K…. Well this should be interesting.

Singer Mark Morrison has been arrested on an allegation of assault, according to reports.

The former international chart-topper was taken into custody last night in London after an incident involving another man.

You have to develop the thick skin of an elephant to survive in that industry, learn to brush off criticism and just keep it moving.
