Two weeks ago I happened to catch a glimpse of morning breakfast show ‘GMTV’, and spotted a ‘colourful’ blast from the past.

56 year old fitness guru Mr Motivator (real name Derrick Evans).

At first I thought GMTV had gone back in time to 1993 when Mr Motivator worked hard to get Britain fit in his ultra bright, tight, lycra outfits.

But no! The Motivator has returned to GMTV after leaving the show 8 years ago, and he is still wearing the same old outfits (LOL).

Evans return is part of GMTV’s attempt to encourage people to get fit.

He will travel around the UK visiting overweight viewers to try and get them motivated and healthy.

I have to admit though, the man still looks incredibly fit.

The Motivator has sold more than 1.7 million videos of his award-winning Mr Motivator Bums Legs Tums series. He holds the record for selling the most fitness DVDs in the UK.

Three men have been jailed for raping a 16-year-old girl in an attack in which caustic soda was thrown on her.

The girl, who has learning difficulties, was lured into a north London flat and repeatedly raped.

Rogel McMorris, 18, from Tottenham, north London, was jailed for nine years for rape and grievous bodily harm.

Jason Brew, 19, from Tottenham, was jailed for six years and Hector Muaimba, 20, from Walthamstow, was given eight years for rape and robbery. 

The girl, who cannot be named, was lured to the disused flat in Tottenham in January last year, Wood Green Crown Court heard.

She told the court she agreed to meet a man she knew for sex there because she thought it would make her popular.

Singer Boy George has been jailed for 15 months for falsely imprisoning a male escort in his flat in east London.

The singer, whose real name is George O’Dowd, denied the charge and claimed the victim, Norwegian Audun Carlsen, 29, had stolen photos from his laptop.

O’Dowd, 47, admitted handcuffing him to a wall in April 2007 but said he did so in order to trace the missing property.

Judge David Radford told the former Culture Club singer he was guilty of “gratuitous violence”.

O’Dowd’s family and supporters reacted emotionally as the singer was handed the jail sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court.  Continue Reading….

From immediate effect all passengers traveling to the United States will be required to obtain electronic travel authorization prior to boarding an air or sea carrier to the United States. Travellers who do not receive travel authorization prior to their departure may be denied boarding, experience delays or be denied admission into the United States. Applications may be submitted at anytime prior to travel, but no less than 72 hours prior to departure.

Travel Authorization is obtained through an online registration system known as the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). This became compulsory as of the 13th January 2009. If your registration is successful, it will be valid for multiple applications for two years or until the date on which your passport expires, which ever comes first.

Before going on line to register, you should ensure that you are qualified to travel under the Visa Waiver Program otherwise your registration will be rejected. ESTA only authorizes a traveler to board an air or sea carrier for travel to the United States. It also does not guarantee entry into the United States; that decision rests with the immigration official at the Port of Entry in the same way that travelers currently entering the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program or with a visa are subject to inspection. ravelers who make their initial entry into the U.S. by land from either Canada or Mexico are NOT required to travel authorization through ESTA before traveling. 

Warning : If your passport has ever been reported lost or stolen to the authorities and then recovered, please do not attempt to use it for travel to the United States. If you input the passport details into ESTA, your application will be denied.

The BART police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man on an Oakland train platform and then refused to explain his actions to investigators was arrested Tuesday in Nevada on suspicion of murder, authorities said.

Johannes Mehserle, 27, was arrested in the New Year’s Day shooting of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old supermarket worker from Hayward who was lying facedown after being pulled off a BART train by police investigating a fight. An Alameda County judge signed an arrest warrant alleging murder, and Mehserle surrendered without incident, authorities said.

The shooting, which was recorded by passengers in videos widely circulated on the Internet and television, prompted public outrage, and some viewers said that the shooting appeared to be an execution. Continue Reading….
