UK NEWS: FORMER ‘BIG BROTHER’ STAR JADE GOODY DISAPPOINTED AT LACK OF CELEBRITY SUPPORT

Jade Goody has admitted that she feels disappointed after being snubbed by celebrities since being diagnosed with cancer.

The reality TV star told The Mirror that the only offer of support has come from Elton John, who has invited her to stay at his French villa while she recuperates.

”I’ve not really heard from any other celebrities though,” she continued. “But then I never had many celebrity friends. I loved Jonathan Ross and going on his show and it would have been nice to have a card from him or a call or something.

“And Jimmy Carr I loved too but I never heard from him either. I loved meeting them at the time, but maybe to them I was just another contestant on their show.

“I did used to be friends with the Prince of Brunei and we hung out together a bit. He rang me when I was first diagnosed but since then he hasn’t been to see me or sent a card so maybe we weren’t friends after all.”

Goody recently confirmed that she has a 40% chance of beating the illness.

But Jade why is this so important to you and why are you surprised???

This is the fake shallow world of ’celebrity’ that we are talking about here.

None of the celebrities that you mingled with back then, thought of you as a friend. They only gave you the time of day because you were the ‘It Girl’ of the moment.

Focus on the people who really do care about you, namely your two sons!

I have been watching Jade’s latest TV documentary Jade: The Next Chapter which airs on Living TV (Wednesday nights 10pm).

It is actually really sad watching Jade struggling to get to grips with her illness (chemotherapy treatment and hair loss) while attempting to lead a normal life.

I wish her the best of luck and hope she has the strength to get through this bleek period.

Yana Johnson MBE has been supplying women of all shades with cosmetics for 7 years and in that time she has put the UK on the map in the International cosmetics industry. She has won a string of National and International awards for her business prowess and entrepreneurship including the European Federation of Black Women Businesses Owners Award, British Female Inventors & innovators Award and Black Enterprise Award.

UK MUSIC NEWS: X-FACTOR’S JLS SIGN RECORD DEAL

January 22, 2009 14 comments

Well it was only going to be a matter time…..

I pray that they brought in a lawyer to pick through the contract with a fine toothed comb before signing.

Via BBC News

X Factor runners-up JLS have signed a recording contract with Epic, it has been announced.

The foursome came close to being the first group to win the show, but were beaten by Alexandra Burke.

“JLS are the best boy band to emerge from a TV talent show,” Nick Raphael of Epic Records said.

JLS, whose name stands for Jack the Lad Swing, features vocalists Marvin Humes, 23, Jonathan “JB” Gill, 21, Ortise Williams, 21 and Aston Merrygold, 20.

Formed in 2007, the group already have a legion of fans and were hailed by X Factor judge Simon Cowell as “brilliant”.

To be brutely honest I don’t rate JLS at all.  Throughout their stint on the X-Factor they continuously sang off key, and could not harmonize to safe their lives.

However they seem to have the 10-14 year old demographic on lock, so I wish them the best of luck.

Black Entertainment Television (B.E.T), America’s most popular black Television Network, is set to build a stronger relationship with Britain’s Gospel community with a planned media presentation to launch the acclaimed Celebration of Gospel on 5th February, at Odeon West End, Leicester Square, London WC2. Celebration of Gospel is one of BET’s flagship shows, and features performances from leading US gospel and mainstream artists. It was first broadcast in 2001, and since them has become the no 1 Gospel/Religious programme in the USA.

This year’s show was recorded in Los Angeles and features leading British Gospel group, Muyiwa and Riversongz. They will be present at the media presentation and share the platform with BET International, VP of Programming and Production; Ava Hall; Glen Yearwood BET UK strategist and Roy Francis facilitator for much of the represented Black majority churches.

Muyiwa and Riversongz are the first British artists to ever appear on Celebration of Gospel and performed on the show alongside gospel superstars Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and many others.

BET International also intend to use the press conference to launch Generation Gospel a new gospel show targeting 16 -25 year olds: 106 & Park Generation will have its premiere on the channel in the UK on February 8, 2009.BET is keen to build strong ties with Britain’s burgeoning black faith community. Glen Yearwood explained, “Britain’s black Christian community is a powerful force. The churches are amongst the largest in the UK, their leaders wield great influence and their church community are a great force for good.”

To demonstrate the seriousness of their plans, Ava Hall, will also meet with key opinion formers within the black Christian community to share BET’s plans and begin a dialogue with black church leaders. She said, “We want the meeting to co-incide with the debut screening of Celebration of Gospel featuring Muyiwa’s performance so as to celebrate this moment and to look forward to a greater working partnership between BET, the church and the gospel music community.”

“Britain’s black Christian community is a powerful force. The churches are amongst the largest in the UK, their leaders wield great influence”

… Yes Britain’s black christian community is a powerful force and it’s  leaders sure do wield a great deal of power over their followers……………………………………………….

I hope this proves to be a successful partnership

XXL MAGAZINE FRONT COVER (MARCH ISSUE)

marchxxl

How could the staff over at XXL Magazine send this issue to press with that front cover???

Look at my Jim Jim. He looks mash up! Just awful!!!! He looks like a tramp!

There is no doubt in my mind that Jim turned up for the shoot looking gorgeous and pristine, but the haters didn’t want my baby to shine so after the shoot they used photoshop to distort his features.

I think I need to lie down……

UK NEWS: RAPE TRIO’S PITIFUL SENTENCES TO BE REVIEWED

January 21, 2009 2 comments

sickos

Rogel McMorris, Jason Brew and Hector Muaimba were convicted of rape

Via BBC News

The Attorney General is reviewing the sentencing of three rapists who threw caustic soda over their victim, after criticism that it was too lenient.

The 16-year-old girl, who has a mental age of eight, was repeatedly raped in north London last January. The men were jailed for up to nine years on Monday.

The Attorney General can refer the sentencing to the Court of Appeal if she feels it was “unduly lenient”.

Disability charities said the sentences sent out “the wrong message”.

The girl, who has learning difficulties, was in a coma following the attack at a flat in Seven Sisters, north London, in January 2008.

She has been left with burns to more than 50% of her body.

The original sentences were a joke!

These sick bastards deserve to spend the rest of their days behind bars and deserve to be tortured within an each of their pitiful lives. But seeing as this is unlikely to happen, then they should each be sentenced to a least 50 years behind bars.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: WWE RAW

January 19, 2009 3 comments

I used to be a huge wrestling fan, but I stopped watching it in the mid 90s.

However there seems to have been a lot of changes since I last tuned in….

When I first saw this clip on one of my favourite show’s ‘The Soup’ (I love you Joe McHale), I could not stop laughing.

When did wrestling become so homoerotic????

LOL!!! SMH!!!

Disturbing…..

Your thoughts please….

UK MUSIC: CRAZY COUNSINZ FT CALISTA – ‘BONGO JAM’

January 19, 2009 35 comments

[Thanks T]

First off – What the HELL????

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And surprise surprise not one black model in sight. Oh dear… excluded once again!

When will the UK’s black music “industry” (and I use that term loosely) give the black woman a break???

America elects its first black President and the UK black music scene still refuses to feature sistahs in music videos.

I mean when will the discrimination end???

Your thoughts please….
