Former R&B singer Houston gives a new and exclusive interview to Hood News.
If you remember Houston had a hit record several years ago with the single ‘I Like That’, and then abruptly disappeared off the musical landscape after experiencing a mental break down whilst on a promotional tour in London, which resulted in him gouging out his own eye (in this interview he says the Mafia and ‘thugs’ gouched out his eye….) .
It’s clear from this interview that Houston is still mentally unstable.
When I see old video footage/photographs of him, and then look at the man being interviewed now, it just breaks my heart…..

I wonder if the industry who tried to turn him into a puppet knew this. The pressures these artists face to look a certain way is unbelievable. All because they think, we the public need to have everything suger coated/fake, so we can run out and by their crappy music.
As he said in the video he is from the hood, all that glossy look with the MJ jacket was’t him. Look at what they are trying to do with Estelle, fix her teeth, hair etc…. Luckily Estelle has a voice, but not everyone does.

It’s so sad to see such a young man this way. I have no idea what this campaign is about prison rape. Rapists will rape regardless. Oh, Houston, please get better. I pray for you and others with this type of illness. His language was a little disappointing also. I hope young people will also see this as a wake up call to leave street drugs alone. The get you no where.
Damn, it kinda breaks my heart. I use to have the crazy crush on him and now he fell off so hard. When you see those pictures of him in 05 and the video of him now, it could bring a tear to your eye. I still listen to his album, he could have really went somewhere in the biz. SMH Damn shame.
He was talkin alot about sodomy and gang rape in prison. My take on that is a man juss doesnt start a campaign about about that for nothing. I think he may have had that suicide attempt and eye accident because someone took his manhood in the industry and this is his way of speakin out on it. But im behind him 100%. That sodomy n gang rape shyt anywhere has got to stop, apparently it can really fuck a man’s head up.
I think its good he found a purpose that he can believe in. And the industry doesnt care about no one so he did good to relize it and be true to himself

man, after watchin this it made me feel sad. ya, kno, i feel sorry 4 him & all that he’s been thru. its a shame that the media can cause so much to change in a person’s life (good AND bad). i agree wit what others were sayin & wat he was sayin. its a lot of dirty shyt that goes on in the industry–especially to new up & coming artists. mayb it could have been all too much for houston 2 take which caused him to make the suicide attempt.
i kno when i heard about it, i was devistated. i knew that he would do great things in the industry because he brought something different to it. lookin @ his ’05 pics & the video now made me wanna cry!!
as far as his campaign against prison rape & sodomy goes, i think it hits him personally. considering how much time of the interview was spent on discussing that topic, it seems OBVIOUS that something similar had 2 have happened to him at one point or another.
now i honestly don’t believe that the “mafia/thugs” guaged his eye out. bkuz lyk ty stated & Houston himself stated. he wasnt in his right mind!! i believe he still isnt in his right mind. it breaks my heart to see someone so young & talented in this state. hopefully this will reach a lot of young people and get them 2 realize that they need to leave street drugs alone & get out of the street life because it NEVER has a good ending.
its strongly believed that he had a mental illness before he even got famous. i honestly dont believe that the music industry cared about that as long as they could “mold” him into the image they wanted him to protray. then i heard that he was on PCP when all that went down. mixin a mental illness with drugs is ALWAYS gonna give u a bad outcome. its numerous rumors goin on still about what happened. some say he attempted to commit suicide because the thought he was Jesus & wanted to go home to his Father, other was because he was jus high on the PCP, other say it was his depression that made him do it. whatever the case is, its sad. when it all comes down to it, PCP was involved, even though nobody wants to admit to that. & of course houston wouldnt admit to takin his eye out himself
It is not our place to judge anyone for any of the faults they may have. Let he/she without sin cast the first stone. God says if your eye offends thee pluck it out. Just pray for him.
