SINGER SEAN LEVERT DIES AT AGE 39
Sean Levert, son of O’Jays lead singer Eddie Levert, was found dead in a Cleveland, Ohio, jail over the weekend, sources said.
Sean Levert, 39, was being held for allegedly failing to pay about $80,000 in child support. The cause of death was not immediately known.
Sean Levert was a member of the R&B group LeVert with his late brother Gerald Levert and Marc Gordon. Gerald Levert died Nov. 10, 2006 at the age of 40. (Source: The Chicago Sun Times).
I also read elsewhere that he complained of feeling ill to the guards and was then rushed to hospital, where he died.
Eddie Levert and their mother now have to face burying a second son, in less than three years….. :(
Rest In Peace Sean and Gerald.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: PAPOOSE ANNOUNCES THAT HE PLANS TO MARRY REMY MA IN PRISON…..
”We always wanted to keep our personal lives personal, so that’s why we never went public with our relationship. Right now, I just feel like she gotta live through me. Yes, we were scheduled to be married on a yacht April 27th. But due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now making arrangements to be married in prison.
“All her supporters who feel Remy had an influence on their life should write a short letter to the judge asking for the shortest sentence possible. Send it to LettersForRemy@gmail.com“
(Papoose sent this email to MTV News)
Who have they struck a ‘reality’ show deal with? VH1 or BET?
Purleeesssseeeee!
They were planning to get married on a yacht…. PURLEESSSSEEEE! LMAO!!!!
Also I doubt the judge will be swayed by fans, to give Remy the shortest sentence possible (LOL) She will probably receive a sentence of between 5-1o years imprisonment.
They should all be grateful that she wasn’t charged/convicted of attempted murder!
ESTELLE ATTACKS ‘BLINDNESS’ TO BLACK TALENT
Singling out Adele and Duffy, who she knocked off the number one spot at the weekend, she says: “I’m not mad at them, but I’m wondering – how the hell is there not a single black person in the press singing soul? Adele ain’t soul. She sounds like she heard some Aretha records once, and she’s got a deeper voice – that don’t mean she’s soul. That don’t mean nothing to me in the grand scheme of my life as a black person. As a songwriter, I get what they do. As a black person, I’m like: you’re telling me this is my music? F**k that!
“There is a fashion for YWFs – young white females,” said Paul McKenzie, editor of the urban music magazine Touch. “They are the ones who are given the money and the time, and most importantly, people are patient with them. Duffy, if she hadn’t had this hit, would have been given a second chance, and a third. Estelle wasn’t. The people who hold the purse strings are looking at trends rather than talent. If you’re not a young white female – in other words if you’re black – I can imagine that is incredibly depressing.”
TV CREW ACCUSED OF KILLING LOST TRIBE CHILDREN WITH FLU
A British TV director was accused today of causing the deaths of four members of an isolated Amazonian tribe by unwittingly introducing the flu virus into their remote village.
Matt Currington, a London-based documentary maker, has been blamed for triggering a “mini-epidemic” in the village of 250 people which led to the deaths of three children and one adult of the Matsigenka people, who live in the isolated Amazonian Cumerjali area of south-eastern Peru.
The 38-year-old was employed by Cicada Productions as researcher when he travelled to the area with a guide last year to scout for locations for the World’s Lost Tribes series, which airs on the Discovery Channel.
Government officials say there has been an outbreak of respiratory sickness since he and a guide visited the region despite warnings not to interact with the tribe, who have no contact with outsiders. The Peruvian government has consulted the regional Indian rights organisation Fenama and plans to ban the company from returning to the area.
Survival International, a campaigning group for indigenous peoples around the world, condemned the TV crew for ignoring warnings to stay away from the area’s most vulnerable communities.
A spokesman said: “They were warned not to go upstream, but were unhappy with the tribe in Yomybato – the village they were permitted to visit – as the Indians appeared too westernised. So, in searching for a more stereotypical tribe, they came into contact with a vulnerable community. Continue Reading
The same thing happened hundreds of years ago in the Americas, Africa and Australia. The introduction of the common cold/flu helped to wipe out some of the orginal inhabitants.
Anyway, it seems that Matt Currington and co just didn’t take the warnings seriously and didn’t care. All that mattered to them was making “good television!”
REMY MA – CONVICTED OF SHOOTING FORMER FRIEND!
Grammy-nominated rapper Remy Ma was led out of a Manhattan courtroom Thursday, weeping and in handcuffs after being convicted of shooting a woman outside a nightclub last summer.
The defense had conceded that the entertainer fired a shot toward a friend she suspected of stealing $3,000 (€1,900), but said it was an accident… Continue Reading
RAPPER T.I EXPECTED TO PLEAD ‘GUILTY’ TODAY
”The 27-year-old singer, whose real name is Clifford Harris, was expected to be sentenced to 1,500 hours of community service talking to youth groups around the country, followed by about 12 months in prison, according to two people familiar with the negotiations who spoke on condition of anonymity because the plea deal had not been finalized yet Thursday morning.
His prison time could be increased or reduced, depending on his fulfillment of the terms of the deal and good behavior, the two people familiar with the negotiations said. His talks to youth groups are supposed to be about the pitfalls of guns, gangs and drugs.”
1,500 hours of community service talking to youth groups around the country (who if we’re honest, are not idiots and won’t take anything that comes out of T.I’s mouth, with regards to guns and drugs, remotely seriously), followed by a 12 month prison sentence isn’t bad, considering he was initially looking at doing a 10 year stretch.
(thanks for the heads up K)
